If you were hoping to see the Elric brothers and company share a stage one more time, don't hold your breath. A Full Metal Alchemist reunion panel scheduled for an upcoming convention has been cancelled — and the reason is exactly what you'd guess if you've been paying attention to anime conventions the last few years.

Convention organizers advertised the event as a full cast reunion but included Vic Mignogna, the original English voice of Edward Elric. Mignogna has been a deeply polarizing figure in the industry since 2019, when multiple allegations of inappropriate behavior were made against him by colleagues. Funimation cut ties, and he's been largely absent from official FMA events since. The tension among cast members over his involvement was apparently enough to kill the panel outright before it ever happened.

Look, this isn't a courtroom. I'm not here to re-litigate anything. What matters is the practical reality: conventions have to decide who they book, and when they book someone a significant chunk of the cast and audience are uncomfortable with, events fall apart. Organizers pulled the plug rather than let it become a mess on stage.

It's a bummer for fans who just wanted a warm nostalgia moment. But this is the landscape now — and pretending otherwise doesn't make anyone safer or more comfortable.
