Someone actually put Morrowind on a Nintendo DS — and it's playable
Bethesda still won't give us The Elder Scrolls 6, and Skyrim has been re-released so many times it's basically a meme at this point. But if you're craving something older, weirder, and way more ambitious — someone just strapped Morrowind to a Nintendo DS.
Yes, really. A modder has gotten The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind running on an actual dual-screen Nintendo DS handheld. It's not a port, not an emulator trick on newer hardware — it's the real 2002 RPG, squeezed onto a system from the same era, using both screens. You're looking at the game world on the top screen and your inventory or map on the bottom, exactly the way a DS-native RPG would work.
The catch? It's not something you download and play in five minutes. You'll need a modded DS, some technical know-how, and a willingness to tinker. The project is called "Morrowind DS" and it's the kind of fan effort that reminds you how much love this game still gets, 22 years later.
This isn't going to replace playing on PC, obviously. But as a flex? As a "because I could" engineering feat? It's exactly the kind of thing that makes the modding scene quietly heroic. No studio greenlit this. No remaster committee debated it. One person just wanted to play Morrowind on a DS, and now you can too.
